Privacy policy
Sikemux is made by nodelike. This page covers the Sikemux app for your computer, the Sikemux phone app, your Sikemux account at app.sikemux.com, and this website. Questions go to contact@nodelike.com.
The short version
- Your code, files, terminals, agent chats, prompts and dictation stay on your devices. We never receive them.
- Connections between your devices are encrypted end to end. A relay server that passes them along cannot read them.
- A Sikemux account holds your email address and the list of devices signed in to it. It exists so your devices can find each other.
- We do not sell data, show ads, or share data with anyone except the services listed below.
Your Sikemux account
The phone app needs an account. The app on your computer works without one and asks you to sign in only to be found by your phone. When you have an account, we keep:
- Who you are: your email address, and the name and profile picture Google or GitHub share if you sign in with them. If you choose a password, only a hash of it is kept, never the password itself.
- Your devices: for each device signed in to your account, its name (such as your computer's name or your phone's model), its platform, which Sikemux release it runs, the public key it identifies itself with, and when it was added and last updated.
- A record of account changes: when a device was added to or removed from your account, so you and we can see what happened to it.
- Sign-in sessions: which browsers and devices are signed in, with the IP address and browser details they signed in from, to keep your account secure.
Signing out of the phone app removes that phone from your account. Signing out on your computer stops new devices finding it through the account.
Server logs
Our servers log each request they handle: the address asked for, the answer, how long it took, and which account made it. The web server also logs the IP address and browser of each visit. We use these logs to keep the service running and to investigate abuse, and they are deleted automatically as newer logs replace them.
Usage statistics
Official releases of the Sikemux app for your computer send one message a day while you use them. It contains a random ID made for your install, the app version, its update channel, and your operating system, its version and your processor type. It contains nothing about you or your work, and we use it to count how many people use each version. PostHog, which receives it, sees the IP address it comes from, as any server does. You can turn it off with Share anonymous usage, under Privacy in Settings, About. Builds you make yourself never send it.
This website counts page views and clicks on the Download button without cookies and without identifying you.
What the apps download
The app checks GitHub for updates and downloads them from there, along with the profile pictures of the people credited in its release notes. When you open a file in a language it has not shown before, it downloads that language's highlighting rules from jsDelivr or unpkg. If you use dictation, it downloads the speech model from Hugging Face once, and then turns speech into text on your computer. Those sites see your IP address when they serve the download, as any website does.
Coding agents
Sikemux runs agents such as Claude Code and Codex on your computer. Each agent talks to its own company under its own terms and privacy policy, and Sikemux does not send what you or your agents write to us.
Who handles data for us
- Clerk runs sign-in and stores your account details.
- Google and GitHub confirm who you are when you choose to sign in with them.
- Cloudflare checks that a new account is being made by a person, not a bot.
- Hostinger hosts the server that keeps your device list.
- PostHog, in the EU, counts the usage statistics and website visits described above.
- Vercel hosts this website, and GitHub hosts the downloads.
- n0, the makers of the networking library Sikemux uses, run the relay servers that pass encrypted connections between your devices when they cannot reach each other directly. When remote access is on, your computer also lists its public key and its relay with n0's lookup service, so your devices can find it.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your account and device list for as long as you have an account. To delete your account, email contact@nodelike.com from the address on it. We delete the account and its devices within 30 days and confirm when it is done. You can also ask for a copy of what we hold about you, or for anything wrong to be corrected.
Children
Sikemux is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly keep accounts for them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. If a change affects what we collect, we will say so in the app or on this website before it takes effect.
